Addressing Childhood Poverty webinar

This month our webinar was all about childhood poverty. It is a problem that is all around us - and within childcare settings - an issue that is observed every day, unfortunately. In this session we were joined by industry heavyweight June O'Sullivan MBE who is not only a guest author of ours but also the brilliant Chief Executive of the London Early Years Foundation.

June informed us of some really shocking statistics and covered some really important messages of why and how childcare settings can address child poverty and provide extra support for the children in their care.

Polite Reminder from the Marketing Team:

When sending documents to Marketing for branding, please ensure that the final version which has been approved and signed off by all relevant parties and line managers - including those from other teams – is sent. Please also ensure that the correct data with all the required fields is included as a CSV file.  This will avoid re-work and delay in returning the documents back to you.

Thank you!

Meet our new Parenta joiners!

Remember, if you are a new joiner or have a new colleague in your team, send over an image and bio to marketing@parenta.com for all of us to see and welcome you!

Update from the Functional Skills Team

Stacey Andrews - Functional Skills tutor

Stacey is currently teaching English with us and her background is teaching English in secondary schools, FE colleges and prisons for over 10 years. Stacey has a passion for teaching and this shows through in her lessons with her bubbly personality.

We have a new FS tutor starting in December and we are very excited to have him onboard.

Learner packs

We have created a welcome pack for learners requiring functional skills, this contains a number of resources and information to assist new learners.

We have created an introductory course for learners to complete whilst they await tutor allocation for FS.

Dedre Ackermann - Early Years Tutor

Dedre’s passion for early years began when she started working as a childminder.  She continued her experience working in a preschool and now has over 10 years’ experience in the industry. When she did her Level 3 Diploma she was so impressed with her Tutor and training course that it motivated her to pursue a career as a Tutor. Her journey started as an End Point Assessor which she has been doing for the last year and then in September she was given the opportunity to join the Parenta family.

Sally Rix - Trainee Early Years Tutor

Sally joined Parenta in September after teaching in Primary schools and Nurseries for the last 26 years. She has always enjoyed working in the Early Years and for the past three years has managed and taught in school Nurseries.

She has two children - the oldest has just moved to university this September whilst her youngest is in Year 11 preparing for GCSEs. She has a crazy but cute puppy who keeps them very entertained and busy at the moment and her free time is mainly taken up with daily walks or reading.

Sameena Ansar - Trainee Tutor

Sameena is our new Trainee Tutor and has a Masters Degree in Early Years.

Christopher Dale  - Early Years Tutor

I have worked with Parenta for almost three month.s and it has been great to be part of the team. I heard about this company through a variety of different sources when I worked in childcare, so have known about Parenta for many years.

It is great to be part of the Parenta family.

Training Delivery

Richard Adkins has just started as the Regional Training Manager for the North Region and Amber Rush has moved across from MIS and is the Training Management Support Officer.

Please don’t forget to use the staff intranet – it’s packed with resources to help us, our learners and our settings

Entice new customers with the power of testimonials!

We have received some amazing testimonials from our Customer Experience team this month - well done everyone!

The positive endorsements that we receive from our existing customers are not only a great way for giving praise to the individuals or teams concerned, but are used as a valuable marketing tool to attract new customers!

Please ensure that after every positive interaction you have with a customer you ask them if they would be willing to send in a short testimonial and then follow up with the usual link https://www.parenta.com/testimonial/

I just want to say thank you Yasmeen, really for all of your support and encouragement these past few months.
I’ve just celebrated turning 40 this weekend and it was honestly the best birthday I’ve ever experienced because I feel I’m in a stronger place and I know that has come about by speaking with you and your words of encouragement and support and so I just want to say thank you so much for the past few months and that I appreciate you and your time.

Did you know?

5th December is 'International Volunteers Day'

In our busy lives, it is easy to forget what is most important. But on days like 'International Volunteers Day' it gives us the opportunity to reflect on how lucky we are and give something back to people who truly are in need.

By just donating items that aren't used in your home, donating some money or even taking a day to spend time with a chosen charity, you could make someone's day.
