PURPLE POST December 2020

Happy new year everyone and welcome to the December edition of Purple Post

We hope that everyone has had a really enjoyable long festive break and you are ready for an amazing and successful 2021!

"Ask Allan" - 4th January 2021

We caught up with Allan this morning on our first day back to work in 2021 and asked him some questions about his vision, projections, and key focus for the year ahead.

New IT Support Arrangements

At our recent company update Allan informed us that we were in the final stages of appointing an IT Support provider who would take over management of our internal technology infrastructure. We are delighted to announce that we have agreed to move forward with a company called Impreza IT who are based in Medway, Kent and most of you will have been contacted by them for some minor adjustments to your computers.

Moving forward therefore, please utilise the following information to log any IT Support tickets:

Helpdesk hours:

09:00 – 17.30 hrs

Phone:

01634 299800

For any support requirements relating to the phone system or mobile phones please contact Rosie Presland at rosie.presland@parenta.com in the first instance.

REMINDER - Annual leave carry-over
Just a reminder that annual leave carry-over will look a little bit different this year. As we are all aware, it has been a difficult year, making it a challenge for some departments to take holiday due to business demands. Holiday carry-over from December 2020 to the 2021 holiday year will be as follows:
  • Colleagues that have not been furloughed during 2020 will be allowed to carry over up to 12 days (pro rata).
  • Colleagues that have been furloughed will be allowed to take over the usual 5 days (pro rata).
  • For colleagues that have been furloughed, the carry over days will need to be booked and taken by 31st March 2021.
  • For colleagues not furloughed in 2020, a minimum of 5 carry over days must be used by 31st March 2021, with another 5 days used by 30th June 2021. The remaining 2 days must be used by 31st October 2021.
Have you been furloughed? How many days can I carry over? When do I need to use them all by?
I have been furloughed 5 days max 31st March 2021
I have not been furloughed 12 days max 5 days by 31st March 2021, 5 days by 30th June 2021, 2 days by 31st October 2021
There will be no opportunity to carry-over this leave beyond these dates. Please ensure that you book in your leave at the earliest opportunity to avoid losing your holiday. Holiday unused will be lost.
Christmas Jumper Day quiz winner!

Congratulations to Paul Wanless on winning our company quiz! Your general knowledge is very impressive! A well deserved £15 voucher should be with you by now! Thanks to everyone who made a special effort and managed to dig out a Christmas jumper, or hat, or in some cases a whole outfit!

Spotlight on… Dagmara Eliemenye
This month, we caught up with Dagmara who was the Kudos winner for November!

Entice new customers with the power of testimonials!

We have received some amazing testimonials. The positive endorsements that we receive from our existing customers are not only a great way for giving praise to the individuals or teams concerned, but are used as a valuable marketing tool to attract new customers!

Please ensure that after every positive interaction you have with a customer you ask them if they would be willing to send in a short testimonial and then follow up with the usual link https://www.parenta.com/testimonial/
Julia always promptly responds to my emails, in a friendly, helpful and polite way. I spoke with her on the phone with a member of staff who has probably not passed her IT assessment. Julia was warm and encouraging to the candidate and as a result the candidate is much more positive about re sitting the test than she was before our conversation with Julia.
Michelle Geer, Munns Farm Day Nursery
Katie was wonderful, the support and encouragement I got was fantastic.
Sarah Reith
A massive big thank you for all your continued hard work and support that you have given to us here at St John's but also to every one of your customers. I mainly deal with the amazing support team, Rosie, Amie, Charlotte, Jamie and Hannah (if I have forgotten anyone, sorry), all of which are a credit to Parenta. You have all worked so hard with the changes during Covid and the support has not changed during these challenging times, thank you.
Linda Innes, St John's Nursery

Keep those high fives coming!

Thanks to all those who have been giving kudos throughout the month – please keep it going, it’s important now more than ever to give each other a deserved ‘pat on the back’. We have a winner for December – Rosie Presland - congratulations Rosie!

Don't forget you can start voting for our January employee of the month already! Keep that Kudos coming and please give recognition for all the hard work our colleagues are doing.

Congratulations to ... Devin Maulayah!

Devin is completing his Level 5 Diploma for Managers - Departmental Managers Apprenticeship and has been recognised by his training provider, Peach Training Solutions for all his hard work and studying so far.

Devin said "I have enjoyed the course so far as it enables me to understand and implement management principles and helps me put into practice measures to deal with the challenges of management".

Well done Devin in being awarded "learner of the quarter" - keep up the good work!

Goodbye to:

Did you know?
January is National Soup Month. When the weather is so cold it’s one of the best ways to get warm!

With this in mind, we would like to encourage you to make a donation to your local food bank, anything would help, even a can of soup. 2020 has been a tough year for many people and a simple donation could really make a difference to someone in your community.
